TEA conquers South Corea: selected among the 40 best technologies worldwide

After a week of pitch challenge, Eleonora Carta, CEO of The Energy Audit (TEA), has achieved the outstanding goal of qualifying her startup among the 40 best tech enterprises worldwide.

The Ministry for Innovation and Industry of South Korea launched the K-startup Grand Challenge with an ambitious goal: To select 40 startups worldwide which could be able to accelerate the development of the country. [...]

“As soon as I arrived in Korea I understood that the challenge would have been tough. While in Europe only 1 out of 10 applicants were selected, 23 out of 24 startups from the Silicon Valley got to the final round. It was a sign that the quality of the business ideas competing in the challenge was outstanding”

says Eleonora Carta, one of the few women participating in K-Startup Grand Challenge and the only European one. Energy, Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality were the main sectors of the projects in the competition. Three of the startups – which were then rejected – have been accelerated by Y-Combinator, i.e. the same accelerator of Airbnb and Dropbox; many others were born in prestigious universities such as the MIT and the best Indian tech campuses.

“We are proud to represent our country in these Olympic Games of Technology and to give to our team (all members are younger than 35) the possibility to compete against the best players”.
